Proof Sheet Privacy Policy.
Effective date: September 1, 2026 Last updated: September 1, 2026
Proof Sheet is made by FourBitCrew LLC. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it doesn't collect any.
We do not collect your data
Proof Sheet does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
We have no servers. There is nowhere for your data to go. (Turning on the optional map in Places asks Apple Maps for map images — see Network use.)
Your photos
Proof Sheet asks for access to your photo library so it can show you your photos and, when you tell it to, delete them. That access is used for nothing else.
- Your photos never leave your device. They are not uploaded, backed up by us, or transmitted anywhere.
- All analysis happens on your device. Finding duplicates, detecting blurry or dark shots, and identifying screenshots is done entirely on your iPhone or iPad, using Apple's on-device frameworks. No image or any part of an image is ever sent off the device.
- We never see your photos. Not in any form, at any time.
What the app stores, and where
Proof Sheet keeps a small amount of working data in its own private storage on your device:
- Which photos you have marked to keep or delete, and your progress through each month.
- A cache of on-device analysis results — image fingerprints used to spot duplicates, sharpness and brightness scores, and whether a photo looks like a screenshot.
- Your app preferences, such as swipe direction and month order.
This data stays on your device, is private to the app, and is deleted when you delete Proof Sheet. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Deleting photos
Proof Sheet never deletes anything silently. Every deletion goes through Apple's standard system confirmation dialog, and deleted photos are moved to your Recently Deleted album, where iOS keeps them for 30 days before removing them permanently. Until then you can restore them from the Photos app.
Proof Sheet does not keep its own copy of any photo you delete.
Purchases
Proof Sheet is free for 14 days. After that, a one-time purchase unlocks it permanently.
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, see, or store your name, email address, payment details, or any other personal information from a purchase. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase exists for the Apple Account signed in on the device.
Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Network use
Proof Sheet has no servers and sends nothing to us. There are three places where your device talks to Apple, and none of them involve us:
- In-app purchase. Apple's own system verifies your purchase.
- iCloud photos. If a photo you are viewing is stored in iCloud rather than on your device, the app asks iOS to download it. That transfer is between your device and your own iCloud account.
- The map in Places, if you turn it on. Places groups your photos by where they were taken, and it names those places using a list of place names built into the app — no lookup, no network, nothing sent. Switching that screen to a map is the one exception: map images come from Apple Maps, so your device requests the part of the map it is showing. The app asks before it does this the first time, and if you never switch to the map it never happens. Your photos and their locations are not sent to Apple or to anyone else.
Map data and imagery in Places is provided by Apple Maps, and Apple's own handling of map requests is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Children
Proof Sheet is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect material changes.
